This policy covers the Boreal Byte corporate website, not the separate Horavio or KotobaTales services.

Contact correspondence
This website does not provide an online contact submission form. Contact buttons open your email application; nothing is sent until you send the email. If you contact us, we receive your email address, the name and other details you include, message content and correspondence metadata. Avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your inquiry.
We use this information to respond to inquiries and discuss services or products. Depending on the inquiry, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in handling business correspondence (Article 6(1)(f)). Any legally required records are processed under Article 6(1)(c). Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
Hosting and technical data
The site is hosted on Vercel. Serving and securing a website involves processing technical information such as IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps and browser information by the hosting infrastructure. This supports our legitimate interest in operating a functional, secure website. We do not claim that visiting the site involves no personal data processing.
Fonts are served with the website using Next.js font optimization. Our registered office is displayed as text, without an embedded third-party map.
Analytics, cookies and browser storage
PostHog integration code exists in this project but is not enabled or loaded by this website. This version does not initialize analytics, tracking cookies, session replay or advertising tools. It stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage using next-themes; this preference is not sent to Boreal Byte as an analytics event. You can remove it through your browser's site-data settings.
If analytics is introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before collection begins.
Third-party services and transfers
Vercel supplies website hosting. Network Solutions, our email provider, processes messages when you email us. Product links take you to separate websites with their own privacy notices. We do not send contact details to PostHog from this site.
Where processing involves transfers outside the European Economic Area, applicable data protection safeguards are required, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Contact us at info@borealbyte.site for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
Data retention
Our retention policy is to keep contact correspondence only while it is needed to respond to an inquiry, manage an ongoing business relationship, or meet applicable legal obligations. When those purposes no longer apply, the correspondence should be deleted, unless it must be retained to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Technical logs and email-provider backups are subject to the providers' retention settings. Clearing your browser's site data removes the locally stored theme preference. This website does not store mobile application accounts or records.
Your data protection rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting prior lawful processing. Contact info@borealbyte.site to exercise these rights. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity.
You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de Datos (AEPD), or another competent supervisory authority.
Separate product policies
Horavio and KotobaTales require their own privacy policies for their respective services. This policy does not describe their accounts, application usage or data processing and does not replace those policies.
